This is a real 242 VIN GTO and maintains the numbers matching original 400 CID V8. The YS code 400 was rated at 350 horsepower with a 4-barrel carburetor from the factory. It is mated to an automatic transmission which runs to a 12-bolt rear end with 3.36 posi gears! This GTO was restored about 2,000 miles ago including an engine and transmission rebuild. The engine was kept basically stock except for a mild Crane camshaft for a nice rumble. The transmission received a shift kit during the rebuild for firm shifts. It is handled through a Hurst Dual-Gate (his and hers) shifter on the center console. The Solar Red is what the car left the factory with, and is paired with the correct Black on the interior. This GTO is well documented with PHS Documentation, a detailed history, receipts of the restoration, and a nice parts list. With power steering and power brakes this GTO is easy to drive. A factory tachometer allows you to keep an eye on the RPMs while some aftermarket gauges hang under the dash to monitor engine conditions. A Pioneer AM/FM/CD player has been added along with extra speakers for a sound system that is up to today's standards! Other options include a vinyl roof, rally wheels, raised white letter radial tires, vinyl interior and seat belts. The same owner has had this car for the last 17 years and it has been very well cared for and garage kept. It is ready to show and cruise! Red lights have been added under the hood and wheel wells to really make this car stand out at car shows.
