Ford in a Ford! 302 powered roadster, 4-wheel disc brakes! Sweet hot rod!
Please visit www.Survivor-Cars.com for additional photos, information and a video. Hot rod, street rod, rat rod … Call it what you will. We call it bad ass! This 1923 Ford Model T roadster has a killer look with a subtle two-tone paint job of Hot Rod Satin Black and Hot Rod Flat Black that is finished off with custom pinstriping in red and white. That ties in with brand new red steelies with chrome baby moon caps. The big and little tire setup gives this Ford a great stance and a lot of attitude. There is a lot of original 1923 Ford in this build, including the fenders, running boards, aprons, windshield frame, headlights, firewall and radiator shell. The body itself is a fiberglass piece, so there is no worry about rust with this hot rod. This was all assembled on a new Speedway Motors chassis with a 12-gallon aluminum fuel tank, new shocks and 4-wheel disc brakes with stainless steel braided lines. Rumbling through Hooker headers and dual exhaust with glass packs is a Ford 302 V8. It is built with a Weiand intake, mild camshaft upgrade, new Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor, and roller rockers. A new fuel pump, fuel filter, battery, coil, condenser, points, distributor cap and rotor have just been installed. An aluminum radiator keeps the V8 powerplant cool and a 12-volt wiring system brought this car into the modern era. Backing that engine is a C4 automatic transmission with floor shifter. The headlights have been fitted with modern halogen bulbs for added safety at night. The interior is simple and comfortable with a bench seat covered in beige vinyl, and perforated vinyl. A Bud Light tap has been used as the shifter handle and a full set of gauges adorn the dash. The NSRA has a term for Ford street rods powered by Ford engines. They call them “Ford in a Ford” and they give them special recognition. There are a lot of these street rods and hot rods running around with Chevy 350s. But for the Ford purist, this is the way it should be done! For additional information on this and our other classic and collectible cars for sale, please visit www.Survivor-Cars.com.
